MY APPROACHI am a relational therapist with a warm, down-to-earth approach. I value kindness, and have a deep love for emotional education. This includes using skepticism, science, and creativity to help you get why you do what you do, and how you can take on life’s challenges. Together, we can build a better intellectual understanding alongside greater emotional awareness and skills.
I encourage you to bring your vulnerability, your power, and everything in-between. With support and gentle challenge, I will work with you to discover (or recover) your natural courage towards living a rich and full life. As your therapist, that means meeting self-judgement with compassionate curiosity, supporting you through anxiety, and helping you see the strengths you already possess. |
I have extensive experience working with mental health issues including self-doubt, anxiety, depression, bipolar, narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, and the impacts of sexual violence, childhood abuse and developmental trauma. I am committed to do my best to create a safe, inclusive space including those who identify as LGBTQI+, and members of the polyamorous, BDSM and other alternative communities. I have completed the five year training program with Gestalt Institute of Toronto, Somatic Experiencing Level 1 and the PACT Couple's Counselling Level 1 training. My approach is relational, humanistic, and trauma-informed.
THis is chris
When I first went to therapy I had one big goal: to help me get these pesky emotions in check so that they would stop sabotaging my life. That was almost fifteen years ago. What a journey it’s been.
I'm a compassionate skeptic, a bit of an artist, a bit of a geek and a bit of an explorer. I love figuring out what makes us humans do what we do, and how we can have better lives. Practicing being with people as a therapist is my way to bring my skills to the next level. I have an active mind and a curiosity that keeps me constantly and happily learning. |
I do my best to integrate rationality with compassion, spirituality without dogma and a big-picture worldview with personal meaning. I believe kindness, empathy and connection should be at the centre of our lives, and do my best to stay in touch with that as I work with clients and go through the world.
